I've decided to have a go at drawing Alpaca's..... they originate from South America. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Alpaca's after taking one for a walk last year (an experience that everyone should do - they are such sweet but stubborn animals!).
Their facial expressions 'lend their hand' to drawing their portraits.
Both portraits were done in charcoal on artist quality paper. It shows what importance the colour of the paper source is. Too light and you can't get the contrast, too dark and your work looks too dark...… it's a never ending battle to find the 'perfect' surface, hue and tonal paper support.
Both portraits have been placed in a 10 x 10 inch double mount ready for sale https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/lindapitcherfineart?ref=l2-shopheader-name
I've also got to update my website with new images
