Hare today!

Charcoal is immediate. That is what I love about the medium. Drawing freehand, there is no 'escape'. Each mark/line is a commitment to create shape, form and character. Knowing when to stop drawing, I think, is the hardest 'lesson' to learn. You can so easily overwork a portrait and loose the essence of what you want to 'say'.
